Oxford College celebrates 10th Anniversary!

Hundreds of people turned out and the clouds lifted at the Annual Oxford College Summer BBQ, which celebrated the 10th anniversary of the college.

The event was held on Thursday, June 13th on the back campus of the college. The day began with grills being fired up to cook hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken. As students and staff lined up for the food dance music blasted out from the DJ Table. The highlight of the day was the performance by the magician and illusionist Vladimir the Great, who performed a wide variety of magical tricks, including fire-eating and levitating a table.

A draw was also held as part of the Proud Oxfordian student contest. Hundreds of students took part, and some won prizes, including a TV, iPad and laptop computer. Keisha Snider, a third semester Dental Hygiene student, took home the big-screen television. “It was awesome – it like a I get a bit of my tuition back!” she laughed.

Toronto city-councillor Raymond Cho was on hand to give the college a plaque recognizing Oxford’s contribution to the community for the last ten years.
