Dental Hygiene students show off career opportunities at Table Clinics

Fourth semester students in Oxford College’s Dental Hygiene program hosted a table clinics presentation last month, where they explained the various alternative career paths for dental hygienists.

As part of their Professional Practices course, the students created bulletin boards and models to demonstrate various aspects of the profession, such as Continuing Education and business opportunities that are available to dental hygienists. The one-day event drew many viewers, including other dental hygiene students and members of the public.

Rehan Khwaja worked in a group that showed off the different administration and management opportunities that graduates can do. The project gave him “a sense of how to promote dental hygiene, and interact with people in general.”

Another student, Zoltan Zara, was involved in a group working on business opportunities for dental hygienists, and focused on the career of sales representative for a dental company.
