Head and Neck Anatomy

Course Description: The anatomy of the head and neck will be taught in this course. The composition of muscles, nerves, and bones will be explained. Students will understand the importance of head and neck anatomy related to dental hygiene.

Dental Hygiene Pre-Clinic I

Course Description: teeth are imperative in many functions of the body; they carry a protective and esthetic value. This course highlights the composition and different functions of teeth along with crown and root morphology. The student will learn the importance of dental anatomy related to their clinical practice.

Infection Control

Course Description: This course deals with the infection control protocols within the dental environment. Procedures to prevent cross contamination and to maintain the chain of asepsis are explained and demonstrated. Office safety for the client and staff is addressed.

Nutrition for Living

Course Description: This course will explain nutrition as an integral component of oral health. Students will learn to assess nutritional deficiencies within the client’s oral cavity. Pharmacology

Course Description: The function of pharmacological aents along with the basic concepts of legal drug administration will be introduced to the students in this course. Through understanding and identifying the physiological actions of drugs, the student can cautiously apply this knowledge to all aspects of the dental hygiene process of care.
